The Day after Sunday, Again.

The sellers counter-offered and we accepted it, and I signed the contract.  As I stood by the receptionist's desk to fax the signed contract pages, I told her, "You are about to witness the most adult moment in my life."  In fact, I told her, she was now witness to the two most adult moments in my life.

Spending money always, always, always makes me feel a little sick to my stomach.  Seeing as how this is the most money I will have committed to spending, once it's all said and done, it's perfectly natural that I'd be fairly panicking right now.  Right?

Off to the rationalizations.

There are certain transactions in a lifetime that you only experience a scant few times, and the process of buying a house is one of them. You have nothing to fall back on and both the protocols and dollar amounts can be utterly intimidating. What you're feeling is perfectly normal.
    All that aside, CONGRATULATIONS!

Oh, how exciting! And I'm assuming you chose the one on my favorite street on which your favorite corner resides. I am so happy for you. This is cause for celebration!

Ashley, yes, that's the one. I didn't consider that we became engaged on that same street! (though many blocks away)

Now that you mention it, I also got engaged on that street. How nice to have a friend with a permanent residence on what is quite possibly the most romantic street in St. Louis.
