Key West
I do not want to give up my (now) annual trip to KW simply because we have a mortgage payment and a bunch of furniture to buy, but I'll tell you it is getting harder to justify. This year, we would likely do what we did the first year and fly into FLL, rent a car and drive down. (It's extremely more expensive to fly into EYW: $680 pp vs. $160 pp, and the drive is actually kind of nice).
It will also be near our anniversary.
We haven't been to Florida in nearly 9 months. That's like a record for us.

at 5/15/2008 3:20:24 PM- Make sure you have a security system. We just got back from New Orleans last week and someone had been in our home. He obviously could only take what he could carry...some jewjlry, lots of change..mostly pennies and our (sob) flat screen TV. There is much that was not taken. We rely on our dog and daughter E usually house sits but this time she took Billie..the dog ..to her house.
The building next door to us is being rehabbed and in Jan. someone removed the new furnace. So prepare to protect while gone. Actually, a house sitter is best. And next time we leave that will be a big heavily tattooed biker.

at 6/11/2008 9:25:32 AM- We haven't braved Key West since the 13 year old was about 6 months. Probably will involve many trips up the Keys to to different places. Straped for cash we had to go some place that was offered to us at no charge. Not much usable beach in Key West as you well know. July 25 thru Aug 3 for us
